I am amazed at the journey God has sent me on. He gave me a beautiful wife named Donna, and we are the adoptive parents of three of the coolest kids ever- Caleb, Faith, and Anna. Although I was the son of a traveling evangelist who was always on the move, I am blessed to be given a Pastors heart and firmly planted in Columbus, GA, serving the incredible people of Northside Christian Church. My privilege at Northside is serving in the area of preaching, teaching, and oversight of the ministries of the church. I am honored to serve alongside a godly and diverse group of Elders and staff as we seek to fulfill Jesus’ command to make disciples. My favorite ministry text is Colossians 1:28-29, “We proclaim him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ. To this end I labor, struggling with all his energy, which so powerfully works in me.” (NIV). Let the journey continue…

Hello. I am Beth Chappell, the secretary for Northside Christian Church. I am pleased to be able to serve as secretary to Northside, for it is the most serene job I have ever taken and I enjoy this small way in which I can assist the members of the congregation. The best thing about it is that I know God provided the opportunity.

My journey to Northside began long ago as God provided me with Christian parents who raised me in the Christian Church from the time I was born.  As the years passed, when I listened to God’s guidance, I found myself as a graduate of Atlanta Christian College. It was there I was able to serve as student secretary to the Greek professor. It is also there where I met this Georgia boy, Paul Chappell, who became my amazing husband.  After graduation, we served churches in Georgia, Ohio, & Tennessee.

Before the days of being a full-time, stay-at-home mom, I completed a degree in Elementary Education and have done some studies at the post graduate level.  As God would have it, I found myself as an educator for some 20 years in several roles and at several localities. Those years overlapped with raising my three fantastic children, who are now all grown with lives of their own.

And now God has led me to Northside.  Our first year here started in 2000.  In time, my children were part of the youth group and my husband became elder.  As a family, we were able to help build a home for a family inJuarez, Mexico under the supervision of Casas por Cristo.  We have made many friends and have found many brothers and sisters in Christ.  It is only proper that God has given me this ministry to work along side a church family that is so gracious and so insightful to the work of the Kingdom of God.
